Repetitive Dive Plan Scenario (NAUI)
Let's now put all of this together and plan a 3-tank, repetitive dive sequence using the worksheet and NAUI dive tables. The steps in the next section refer to the worksheet images below. The student should fill in a worksheet and then verify this dive plan as we step through it.
- Pre-dive plan: Plan a dive to 66 ft. Table 1 shows the MDT to be 45 minutes.
- After dive 1: The diver enters the water at 9:10 a.m., reaches a maximum depth of 66 ft., and leaves the water at 9:49 a.m. (with a 3 minute safety stop). The ADT and TNT are both 36 min. and the diver is in Letter Group H.
- After SI; plan dive 2: Plan a SIT of at least 2 hours; according to Table 2, the diver would move to Letter Group E. Plan a second dive to 46 ft. According to Table 3, the AMDT is 42 min. and RNT is 38 min.
- After dive 2: The diver enters the water at 12:02 p.m., reaches a maximum depth of 46 ft., and leaves the water at 12:43 p.m. (with a 3 minute safety stop). The ADT is 38 min., bringing the TNT to 76 min. The diver is now in Letter Group J.
- After SI; plan dive 3: Plan a SIT of at least 90 min.; according to Table 2, the diver would move to Letter Group G. Plan a third dive to 40 ft. According to Table 3, the AMDT is 57 min. and RNT is 73 min.
- After dive 3: The diver enters the water at 2:25 p.m., reaches a maximum depth of 40 ft., and leaves the water at 3:08 p.m. (with a 3 minute safety stop). The ADT is 40 min., bringing the TNT to 113 min. The diver is now in Letter Group K.
